Experience with XuGong v2 Pro was not very pleasant but helpful. I decided to build my own foldable and portable series.
First attempt is not very portable since I went with wider low KV morots and full size 3DR Pixhawk is not a compact FC :)
This build is Y6 configuration with ~720mm diameter.
On ArduCopter site motor configuration is listed in such a way that regular nuts will unscrew all the time, so I ended up to make 'R' option where motors are spinning in opposite direction and now all nuts become self tightening :). Not my invention, found somewhere in RCGroups forums.
Still tuning, but here is a video filmed from it:
Gimbal is mounted to the top center plate to save height.
Crab legs, not bad
Unfolded
