SK450 (Dead cat mode from HobbyKing)

  • Motors - NTM 28-30s 800kV
  • Propellers - 10x45 plastic
  • ESC - Turnigy Multistar 30A with BEC, stock FW, tried SimoK, but they got overheated...
  • Flight controller - APM 2.5.2 clone from RC Timer
  • Battery - 3S 3300mAh or 5000mAh. Both of them give about 10-11 minutes if flight.
This is my testing rig. I have small VGA camera and video transmitter on it. Learning to fly.

Tarot 650 quad (Disassembled)

1. Initial setup

  • Motors - Multistar 3508 650kV
  • Propellers - 12x47 plastic
  • ESC - 4x25A Q-Brain
  • Flight controller - Pixhawk
This bird is for carry camera. Not designing for anything bigger than GoPro. And since it's more expensive, I'm using Loiter (GPS) mode to fly it.

2. Evolution

  • Motors - Multistar 4108 480kV
  • Propellers - 15x55 CF
  • ESC - 30A AfroESC
  • Flight controller - Pixhawk
Same Tarot 2D gimbal. Flight time ~12 minutes with 5000mAh 4S battery.

  • Motors - T-motor Air Gear 350
  • Propellers - T-motor Air Gear 350
  • ESC - Afro 30A with BEC
  • Flight controller - 3DR Pixhawk
  • Battery - 4S 5000mAh. About 14-16 minutes if flight.
